House speaker John Boehner (R-OH) will not make his scheduled appearance Thursday on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) dropped out of the race Thursday to replace Boehner minutes before the Republican party was to vote.

The lineup will not change, according to CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter.

  1. You know thing’s are f*cked when Repubs are terrified of hard-hitting questions from Jimmy Fallon.

  2. Hope Fallon gives Boner the Dave Letterman treatment when McWar didn’t show up on his show with some lame bullshit excuse. Boner is trying to spare himself the utter embarrassment of his party in the public eye. Coward…but we already knew that.

  3. Boehner’s getting a different kind of slow jam today.

  4. Damn…now I’m actually starting to feel bad for the guy. Imagine having had such high hopes for your Speakership and being dealt an extremist faction like the Teatrolls in your hand? I honestly can’t blame him for blowing a 0.2 by noon.

  5. You know, this is actually a perfect ending to his Speakership. It so typifies his entire tenure as Speaker. Totally stupid gaffes to the press, followed up by crazy pinning of hopes on an unruly caucus to deliver the votes, only to have it explode at the last minute in the most humiliating way imaginable. Followed by gleeful dancing by the tea partiers.

Its his entire time as Speaker compressed into a few short weeks.
