Just a little over an hour before the second presidential debate was supposed to begin, the GOP nominee Donald Trump held a press conference with three women who have all accused former President Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct.
It was unprecedented as Trump sought to manage his own scandal: a decade-old video released Friday showing Trump discussing how he takes advantage of women and can because he is famous.
“We’re not surprised to see Donald Trump continue his destructive race to the bottom,” Clinton’s campaign said in a released statement. “Hillary Clinton understands the opportunity in this town hall is to talk to voters on stage and in the audience about the issues that matter to them and this stunt doesn’t change that. If Donald Trump doesn’t see that, that is his loss. As always she’s prepared to handled whatever Donald Trump throws her way.”
