Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) announced Monday that he will vote yes on the budget agreement passed by the House last week, becoming the sixth Republican in the Senate to announce his support for the deal.
“This agreement isn’t everything I’d hoped it would be, and it isn’t what I would have written. But sometimes the answer has to be yes,” Hatch said in a statement. “I know that crafting this budget was hard fought, and it’s built on the necessary consensus that reflects divided government.”
The budget bill is set to pass in the Senate, though the vote will be close as many Republicans will oppose the bill.
