Actor Harrison Ford was seriously injured on Thursday after a plane he was flying crashed on a golf course in Mar Vista, Calif., according to reports from NBC News and TMZ.

According to NBC News, Ford was stabilized and taken to a local hospital for treatment. NBC reported that Ford was conscious and breathing when he was taken to the hospital and that he was in “fair to moderate” condition. NBC did not have information on what caused the vintage World War II plane Ford was piloting to crash.

Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration told NBC that the plane crashed shortly after taking off at the Santa Monica Airport.

  5. It appears Mr. Ford was asleep in the back when his pilots jumped from the plane leaving no parachute and an empty gas tank.
