Longtime RedState editor Erick Erickson wrote on his website Tuesday that there was “one simple thing” President Obama can do “to stop being accused of being a Muslim.”

“Simple,” Erickson wrote. “Act like a Christian.”

Obama, who is a Christian, was called a Muslim by an audience member Thursday at a town hall meeting for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. Trump did not correct the attendee and later defended his decision not to do so — despite the criticism he received.

Erickson titled his post on his website “The One Simple Thing Barack Obama Could Do To Stop Getting Accused of Being a Muslim.”

He wrote that he didn’t buy into the conspiracy theory that Obama was a secret Muslim, but offered his own judgement of the President’s faith.

He wrote:

Barack Obama keeps getting accused of being a closet muslim (sic) by some people. I actually don’t think that’s true. I think Barack Obama is a secular atheist who only talked God and religion to get people to vote for him.

If the President wants to stop being accused of being a muslim (sic), he should either fess up that he isn’t a believer in anything other than himself or start acting like the Christian that he claims to be.

Erickson defended Trump’s decision not to correct the town hall attendee in a post Monday in which he also touched on Obama’s faith and called him a “secularist.”

Years before imploring Obama to act more like a Christian, Erickson took to Twitter to bash former Supreme Court Justice David Souter as a “goat fucking child molester.”
