The Centers for Disease Control on Tuesday said that a patient in Texas has been diagnosed with Ebola, the first case in the United States, according to multiple news reports.

The Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas admitted the patient on Monday and immediately placed the person in isolation.

The CDC will hold a press briefing on the case at 5:30 p.m.
