First At TPM: Dems Release Blistering Ad Hitting Michigan GOPer On Medicare

A new ad from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee hits Republican Senate candidate Terri Lynn Land (MI) for supporting a Medicare plan which, according to the ad “would end the Medicare guarantee.”

The ad features images of older Americans while text that reads “Michigan Seniors Deserve The Truth.”

“Terri Lynn Land supports a plan that would end the Medicare guarantee, giving insurance companies the power to make healthcare decisions, slashing benefits, raising prescription drug prices, and making seniors pay thousands of dollars more a year,” the voiceover in the ad, obtained first by TPM, said. “Terri Lynn Land: she’s not for us.”

As TPM has previously reported, this attack references Paul Ryan’s Medicare plan, which he has backed away from due to unpopular cuts to the program.

The new TV ad was released Thursday and is part of a statewide multi-million dollar ad buy. It is airing statewide.

Watch the ad below:

The ad is the latest barrage by Democrats in a race that looks increasingly like a safe bet for Rep. Gary Peters (D-MI), the Democratic nominee. The TPM Polltracker average gives Peters an 8.2 point lead over Land.

  1. Crush her like a grape! No mercy!
Republicans have done far too much damage to Michigan already.

  2. Land is a reprehensible moron—unfit for any office of public trust.

In other words, she’s a classic Republican.

    “Blistering?”

Seems like standard content for an attack ad. Gotta hype that headline. Or maybe Daniel Strauss just blisters easily.

    BUT IT’S FIRST AT TPM!!!

Yes, apparently bragging about getting hold of the voiceover ahead of anyone else is now a thing.
