Donald Trump will give two interviews on Fox News this week after going without an appearance on the network for about two weeks, according to CNN’s Brian Stelter.
Trump will join Bill O’Reilly’s show on Tuesday night and Sean Hannity’s show on Wednesday, Fox News confirmed to CNN.
It’s not clear why Trump did not join Fox for any interviews over the past two weeks. Sources with Fox and Trump gave differing reasons to CNN for the real estate mogul’s absence from the channel. And while Trump did not give any interviews with the network, Fox News did cover the presidential candidate’s speeches and press conferences.
Trump’s latest absence from Fox followed a statement from Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes defending Megyn Kelly and demanding that the real estate mogul apologize for repeated attacks on the Fox host.
After initially making amends with Fox News following intense criticism of Kelly’s questions for Trump at the first Republican presidential debate, Trump made a brief return to Fox on “The O’Reilly Factor.” But when Kelly returned from a vacation, Trump picked up his attacks on the host, prompting Ailes to issue the stronger admonishment.
