Trump Keeps The Ted Cruz Bromance Alive: ‘He Has To Say’ I’ll Never Win!

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday defended his rival, Sen. Ted Cruz, for saying the real estate mogul could never be the party’s nominee for President.

“He has to say that,” Trump said during an interview on the Fox News show “Your World with Neil Cavuto.”

Trump was responding to comments Cruz made last week, the first time he turned on The Donald, when he said that he didn’t think Trump would be the Republican nominee.

The two candidates have taken on a chummy attitude toward each another. The candidates co-hosted a rally against the nuclear deal with Iran in D.C. And they’re repeatedly come to each other’s defense throughout their campaigns.

Cruz has defended Trump against the other GOP candidates saying it was “just foolish” to attack him. Trump complimented Cruz’s performance at the first debate.

Trump again defended Cruz on Fox News.

“Well, what he really said in all fairness to him, they said, ‘Do you think you will win?’ He said, ‘Yes.'” Now, what’s he going to say, ‘No, I think Trump is going to win?'” Trump said.

“But Ted Cruz said he thinks he’s going to win,” Trump continued. “So I think he has to say that. He’s treated me very nicely with great respect.”

  1. That’s right Donald, you delusional yutz. Cruz is widely known for his niceness, respectfulness, and lack of personal ambition. He’s just pretending that he wants to win himself. Really he wants you to win. So does Bill Clinton, he’s your friend and campaign adviser too. It’s a sign of your widely self-declared high intelligence that you see that.

This is the worst “reading” of a person’s character since Bush v. Putin.

  3. Stalin’s trusting Hitler also comes to mind for sheer head-smacking bafflement.

  4. Stalin is a great metaphor for the G.O.P…

The 1941 German imminent invasion of the Soviet Union was known to all. Except Stalin. Millions of Soviet troops died (not to mention Russian civilians). Leningrad was needlessly put under siege. However, since the Communist Party under Stalin was, by dogma, blameless, no blame was vigourously assigned–at least until after Stalin’s death.

Similarly, in the Obama era, among two social structures, the Republican Party is also, by dogma, blameless.
