Donald Trump on Tuesday said that he is pro-life, but also supports exceptions to bans on abortion in cases of rape and incest, as well as in cases that would save the life of the mother.
CNN’s “New Day” so-host Chris Cuomo asked Trump if he agreed with Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) stance against exceptions for cases of rape or incest.
“I disagree with that. I am for the exceptions,” Trump responded. “And so was Ronald Reagan for the exceptions, by the way. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
Though Trump expressed support for those exceptions, he took a strong stance against Planned Parenthood, which has been under fire for edited videos released by an anti-abortion group.
“Well, the biggest problem I have with Planned Parenthood is the abortion situation. I mean, it’s like an abortion factory, frankly,” Trump said about the organization.
The real estate mogul said that the government should not fund abortion-related services, and he indicated that he would want to look at the positive aspects of the organization before deciding on federal funding for the organization.
Cuomo also confronted Donald Trump over his tendency to whine, referencing a National Review column by Rich Lowry declaring Trump “the most fabulous whiner in all of American politics.”
“I think he’s probably right. I am the most fabulous whiner. I do whine because I want to win,” Trump said in response. “I am a whiner, and I’m a whiner and I keep whining and whining until I win.”
Bingo. Give him credit for that one!!
No more Donnie!
No more Donnie!
He admits he whines until he wins.
So do 3 year olds.
OMG our country is so fucked. This guy is actually leading in the ® polls?
When this looks moderate–or even left of center–the debate frame has shifted dramatically.
Well, there you go. A position that’s not batshit insane gets Trump a headline.
The subtle partyism of lowered expectations?
