Networks: Democratic New York Primary Too Early To Call

After a decisive victory for Donald Trump on the Republican side, the Democratic race remained too close to call after the polls closed Tuesday night.

None of the major news networks – NBC News, CNN, or Fox News – were prepared to call the Democratic race for either former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) shortly before 9:30 p.m. ET.

The polls in New York closed at 9 p.m.

Clinton was heavily favored to win in her adopted home state, where she served as a U.S. senator from 2001-2009.

  1. I’m gonna call bullshit on that CNN exit poll. With 17% in, she is still up over 20 points, and the exit polling I was looking at had her up by a healthy 10 points.

  3. Benchmark called it (they aim for the first to call it :)). Some exits show a close race, which may make the networks cautious.

  4. I don’t know, @jw1 , there’s always a dead cat to be swung…

  5. She is the most qualified candidate to ever run for President! She should win by 40 pts. in her home state, where she is universally loved! It´s a no-brainer!
