Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Monday that jetting around the country wasn’t enough to win the White House and her Republican rival, Donald Trump, needed to familiarize himself with the issues important to Americans of all stripes.
“I have said, ‘Come out of those towers named for yourself and actually talk and listen to people.’ You know, at some point, if you want to be president of the United States, you gotta get familiar with the United States,” Clinton said at a campaign event in Wilmington, Delaware. “You gotta spend time with Americans of all sorts and backgrounds in every part of our country.”
Trump Tower sits in midtown Manhattan and houses both his presidential campaign’s headquarters and a shop with Trump-themed gear. It’s also the venue where he announced his candidacy for the presidency and infamously said that Mexican immigrants were “rapists” and drug dealers. Trump’s estate in Florida, the Mar-a-Lago Club, has also been used to stage several of Trump’s campaign events and news conferences.
Clinton suggested that campaigning style made Trump out of tune with the country’s problems.
“Don’t just fly that big jet in and land it, go make a big speech and insult everybody you can think of and then go back, get on that big jet, and go back to you know your country club house in Florida or your penthouse in New York,” Clinton said. “I somehow don’t think that kind of puts you in touch with what’s going on.”
She should have said, “You know what they say about short fingered men who feel compelled to buy big planes.”

She’s spot on.
More of this please!
Not yet.
But I think it’s probably coming from a surrogate. I can’t wait…
A great challenge! But you know that Donnie knows evvvvvverrrrryyyyything, so I doubt that he will accept it. After all, his companies hire thousands of “regular people” and he knows “the blacks,” and “the hispanics,” well because of that, though he never says that he has actually met any of “them.”
Thank you Hillary. It will be interesting to hear Donnie’s response, if any.
