CLEVELAND — Audible groans could be heard among Republican convention delegates on the GOP platform committee when it’s chair, Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), said that Democrats were planning to include climate change in their party platform.

“There’s sections about that they call ‘climate justice’ — climate justice!” Barrasso said, getting laughter from the other platform committee members.

“Hillary Clinton goes and says she’s going to put coal miners out of work,” Barrasso said. “It’s not just the miners, it is the construction workers, it’s the engineers, it goes on and on and on — making it much harder to get the country growing and going again.”

Barrasso also mocked the Democrats for using the term income inequality in their platform

“It’s a fixation that they seem to have and they use the phrases, ‘economic redistribution,’ ‘income inequality’ as opposed to economic growth,” Barrasso said.

  2. Barasso, another one of the long, long list of those vying for the title of dumbest GOP legislator. We’ll see who is laughing, Barasso, after the November lections, eh?

    Dumbass!

The thing is, since many republicans are old, they won’t be around when climate change really starts to hurt. Why should they care. They’ve got theirs.

  4. Will American society have the will power to hold those responsible for their gravely irresponsible lies and craven misdirection w/r/t climate change. Will there be no penalty for their harm to us and the world? When Democrats take back Congress thier first law should be one with severe punishment for knowingly lying about matters greater than any financial crimes. Jail for these MoFos and let them know it’s coming.

  5. Wyoming. Why, indeed.
