Chris Christie, left, talks as singer Jon Bon Jovi listens while visiting patients at the Turning Point drug rehab program at Barnert Medical Arts Complex, Thursday, May 2, 2013, in Paterson, N.J. During the visit, Christie signed into law a good Samaritan bill intended to assure that a fear of prosecution doesn't get in the way of medical help for overdose victims. The New Jersey law will shield from prosecution both overdose victims and those seeking medical help for them if they act in good faith. Bruce Springsteen fanboy Chris Christie has some bad blood for his former favorite rocker.

The Republican presidential candidate and his wife, Mary Pat, severed their allegiance to one New Jersey rocker in an interview published on Tuesday and pledged it to another: Jon Bon Jovi.

In a video interview with conservative pundit Laura Ingraham for her website LifeZette, Mary Pat Christie was asked a series of questions to “get to know the 2016 spouses.” The either/or questions ranged from Bradley Cooper or Anderson Cooper to Google or Yahoo.

A rather boring interview got personal when the Christies were asked to pick between New Jersey rock ‘n’ roll royalty: Bruce Springsteen or Bon Jovi?

“Their music or their person?” Mary Pat asked, eventually going with “Bon Jovi.”

And Springsteen superfan Chris Christie agreed: “Bon Jovi.”

This was a 180-degree turn for the Christie brand, which is decidedly pro-Springsteen. Christie’s love of The Boss is well documented — he’s reportedly attended 130 Springsteen concerts over the last 40 years.

What turned Christie (who once hired a Bruce Springsteen cover band to play at his inauguration) against the 20-time Grammy winner?

Perhaps it was Springsteen declining to play at Christie’s 2009 inauguration. Or maybe it was Springsteen and comedian Jimmy Fallon performing a parody of the BridgeGate scandal to the tune of “Born to Run” in January 2014.
