Republican presidential candidate and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie pulled out some sass when discussing the refugee situation Wednesday during an appearance on CNN.

At what point in the interview, he told CNN host Jake Tapper that he’d “love to know how you figured that one out.”

Tapper’s conversation with Christie’s quickly escalated when the CNN host criticized how the GOP hopefuls have responded to the number of refugees President Obama is preparing to accept.

“I don’t hear you or any of your fellow presidential candidates calling for European citizens to be banned from entering the United States,” Tapper said.

“Jake, how do you know that most of the terrorists are from Europe? How do you know that? I mean, I’d love to know how you figured that one out,” Christie responded, adding that those involved in the Paris attacks “appear to be mostly from Belgium and France.”

“But for you to make the blanket conclusion from that that most of the terrorists are folks from inside Europe just doesn’t wash with me,” Christie said.

Many Republican presidential candidates have criticized President Obama’s plan to allow thousands of refugees in to the United States following the terror attacks in Paris. Some state governors have also vowed to turn refugees away.

Experts have said governors can’t legally deny refugees. Still, a Syrian family was rerouted Wednesday to Connecticut after officials in Indiana, where they had planned to settle, objected.
