Republican mega donor Charles Koch railed in an interview aired Sunday against the policies of Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), calling them “terrible role models.”

Koch said in a wide-ranging interview with ABC News that he didn’t plan on donating to either campaign.

“These personal attacks and pitting one person against the other — that’s the message you’re sending the country,” Koch said. “You’re role models and you’re terrible role models. So how — I don’t know how we could support ’em.”

Koch said Cruz’s plan to carpet bomb the Islamic State and — as Cruz said — “make the sand glow” was “frightening.”

Koch also said Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims from entering the United States was “antiethical.”

“What was worse was this ‘we’ll have them all registered,'” Koch said. “That’s reminiscent of Nazi Germany. I mean — that’s monstrous as I said at the time.”

  1. Unbelievable . Doesn’t do irony well does he? As his Frankenstein creations that he birthed terrorize the villages he’s all What happened here? Go Fuck yourself Koch . If they were to get elected it would be you and your brother who should get the blame .

    Yes…if they would just stick to polluting our nation’s water and air…then he could support them.

    If they would just stick to making sure our country’s scarce precious resource of Billionaires were coddled and catered to, well then…they would be terrrific role models.

  3. So he’s not donating to either of these clowns. But he and bro are still committed to spending $889 million this cycle with lots of buffers between them and the recipients as other crime families know how to do. I imagine most of it will go toward those who’ll vote No in Congress.

    @pshah
    I’m still boycotting their products, Bounty, Charmin, 76 gas, etc., but I see no signs of them failing.

  4. Evidently not. Next he’ll be tisk-tisking Trump for attempting to use his wealth to have an outsized influence on the political process. (Of course he may not actually consider barely-a-billionaire Trump wealthy.)

  5. Well, good for him.
