Dena Minning isn’t widely known in Florida’s 9th Congressional District, but that all could change now that she has taken Rep. Alan Grayson’s last name.

According to Politico, Grayson – who is running for the open Senate seat in the state–married Minning over the weekend.

“Dena Minning promptly became Dena Grayson on Twitter and Facebook,” Politico wrote, a move that may help Dena Grayson win in a competitive Democratic primary.

The Orlando Political Observer reported that “for months the two had been at the center of marriage rumors.”

Politico reported that the wedding would only add to the the tensions in an already contentious primary where former Grayson aide Susannah Randolph was also running for the seat. A year ago when Politico began reporting on the two’s connection, the couple was upset Politico identified Dena Grayson as Alan Grayson’s girlfriend. They would not comment for that story.

On her official Facebook page, Dena Grayson wrote “My handsome, brilliant, and amazing husband, Alan Grayson!!.”
