Even as many prognosticators were handing the hard-fought Washington Senate race to incumbent Sen. Patty Murray (D), I couldn’t ever quite close the book on this one in my own mind. It just didn’t seem like a done deal yet. Now we have a new poll out this morning from Public Policy Polling showing Murray trailing Republican Dino Rossi 50-48.
Of the six polls on this race in the last week, Rasmussen was the only other one to give Rossi a lead. In the rest, Murray was leading, in one by as many as 6-points. Whether it’s differing methodologies or a truly volatile race, I don’t know. But I’d keep a close eye on this one.
