Earlier this afternoon we reported that (as then thought) two gunmen had opened fire on military personnel training at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. No one was injured in the attack.

Camp Shelby is one of the facilities designated to participate in the ‘Jade Helm 15’ military exercises which have triggered numerous conspiracy theories among right wing groups since the beginning of the year. The vehicle used by the attackers reportedly had a ‘broken arrow’ insignia which has become a calling card of Jade Helm conspiracy theorists who believed the Obama administration is using the exercises as a cover to mount a military takeover of Texas, which is already part of America.

As we noted, not long after the incident, authorities were questioning but had not arrested two men. But investigators were apparently convinced that these two were in fact not involved and released them.

According to the latest report, Perry Country Sheriff Jimmy Smith said they now believe there is only one white male involved in the attack, not two. And that man is still at large, possibly driving a small maroon colored truck.
