AMMAN, Jordan (AP) — A Jordanian policeman opened fire Monday on foreign trainers at a police compound, killing two Americans and a South African before being shot dead, the government spokesman said.
Two Americans and four Jordanians were wounded in the shooting at the police training center on the outskirts of the Jordanian capital, Mohammed Momani told the state news agency Petra. He said one of the wounded is in critical condition.
Momani portrayed the shooting as a “crime” and said an investigation has been launched.
The U.S. Embassy had no immediate comment.
The shooting raises questions about Jordan’s image as an island of relative stability in a turbulent region. The pro-Western kingdom has taken on a high-profile role in the fight against Islamic extremists, including the Islamic State group, which holds large areas in countries bordering Jordan.

“Friendly fire”, but I’m only assuming this right now, since the article doesn’t discuss motive / who did it. Can’t blame the shooter if it is friendly fire. I’m surprised we don’t see a lot more “friendly fire” against the American invaders, assassins, torturers and terrorists, and I mean throughout the ME.
It’s hard to think this a “friendly fire” incident. The bit doesn’t say much but given it was only Americans and it was a Police, not military training center…I guess this was deliberate. How would Donald Trump or Ben Carson prevent this. Because unless you can do that…get past the treachery and deceit…you aren’t going to do any of the rest of the crap you claim you will do. How would these “tough on terrorism” GOP’ers prevent this and what would they do now that it has happened ?
Fuck the Jordanian Police. Bring the Americans home. It’s the decent thing to do.
Because of one mass shooing with three fatalities and 6 injured? Seeing as how that is about a weekly occurrence here in the States at this point what does that say about our “relative stability?”
Including the four who were also shot?
There was a South African who died and several Jordanians who were wounded …one critical
Turbulent, maybe, but, given the prevalence of firearms in private hands, we know that it is a very polite region.
If you wanted stability, you should have elected McCain:
