It’s not exactly paying for votes, but… President Trump’s payments to farmers impacted by the trade war he started with China gets pretty close. Begun in 2018 after China targeted U.S. agricultural imports in response to Trump’s tariffs, the government money now makes up a substantial chunk of farm profit.
