North Carolina Redistricting Fight Over, For Now: The fight over North Carolina’s GOP gerrymandered maps appears to be over, at least through the 2020 election. A state court approved last week the new congressional district map the legislature drew, after its previous one was ruled a violation of the state constitution. The groups that led the lawsuit against the gerrymander announced they would not appeal it, and the filing period for congressional candidates was opened.
