In 2009, Republicans from Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) took credit for improvements to their states funded by former President Barack Obama’s $787 billion stimulus bill in 2009 — legislation all three of them voted against.
