Over the next year, a central focus, likely the central focus of our politics coverage will be the on-going confrontation between the Trump administration and the Democrats’ House majority, a battle which we should expect to play out both through oversight and investigations on the one hand and policy decisions on the other. With that in mind, I’d like to suggest a few points which can serve as guideposts about our assumptions. Because, as usual, much of the consensus opinion we hear are actually wrong.
