Felix Sater, a former advisor to Donald Trump from the president’s real-estate days, is perhaps best know for being the driving force, alongside Michael Cohen, behind the one-time plan to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. He also once stabbed a man with the stem of a broken martini glass.

But in addition to that already-colorful resume, Sater has long said he worked with the U.S. government on covert missions across the globe, including “hunting bin Laden.”

A letter unsealed Friday confirmed that this is, in fact, true.
