Donald Trump maintained his solid lead in a national online tracking poll by NBC News/Survey Monkey released on Tuesday, despite a small dip in support, while Sen. Marco Rubio saw a small bump in support.

Trump earned 35 percent support from Republican and Republican-leaning voters, a 4-point drop from 39 percent in last week’s tracking poll. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) earned 20 percent support, which has not changed since last week’s poll.

Rubio placed third in the poll with 17 percent support, up 5 points from the 12 percent support he earned a week ago.

According to TPM’s PollTracker Average, Trump leads the race at 33.2 percent, followed by Cruz with 18.7 and Rubio with 17.3.

NBC/Survey Monkey surveyed 2,887 registered Republican voters online Feb. 1-7 with a margin of error plus or minus 2.7 percentage points.

  1. Well, that settles it. The GOP’s base clearly wants the lowest common denominator to win. How anyone could watch Rubio’s bumbling debate performance and say, “There’s the guy I want to lead this nation” is beyond me.

  2. It’s a new day, a man who wears high heels can be President!
