Donald Trump leads in the latest Arizona presidential election poll by five points among registered voters, according to a CNN/ORC survey released Wednesday.

Trump polls ahead of Hillary Clinton, 43-38, with Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson polling at 12 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 4 percent.

Arizona voters have not been polled by CNN/ORC recently, but a CBS/YouGov poll from earlier this month showed Trump leading by two points among likely Arizona voters, 44-42, with Johnson at 5 percent and Stein at 2 percent.

The CNN/ORC poll was conducted Aug. 18-23 among 842 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for Arizona shows Trump leading Clinton, 42.8 to 38.1.

  1. I’m not buying this one. There’s way too many Hispanics n AZ that are not being polled by this poll. Trump loses AZ I say.

  2. I could survive Drumpf winning Arizona as long as Grampy Cryptkeeper McCain lost.
    A very acceptable trade-off to me…

  3. I don’t know anyone who thought AZ was an easy win for the D’s. The fact that HO is only up by 5 points and she hasn’t even put serious effort there (and eccch CNN says she will), she can make him play defense in a state where he should be cruising. Just by hinting that’s she’s contesting it makes him spend money he doesn’t have, time he can’t afford, and staffers he hasn’t hired yet.

  4. For a State that typically votes Republican, this is way too close for comfort.

  5. I hope you’re right. However you slice it, he’s not doing that well – he should be cruising in the upper 60s in AZ, but he’s not. I’m with you in that there likely are many Latinos either being missed or brand newly registered to vote just so as to take part in this year’s election. HO has not only mobilized some of the more zealous bigots to his rallies, he’s also mobilized many people to walk to the other side of the aisle – many are first-time voters.
