Clinton Comes Out Five Points Ahead In Quinnipiac National Poll

Hillary Clinton leads by five points in the latest national poll from Quinnipiac University, but Donald Trump edges closer to her lead when third party candidates are included.

Clinton leads Trump, 48-43, among likely voters polled throughout the US.

Her lead decreases dramatically when including third party candidates, to 41-39, with Libertarian Gary Johnson polling at 13 percent and the Green Party’s Jill Stein at 4 percent.

This latest poll marks a decrease in Clinton’s lead nationally since Quinnipiac polled in August, where she led Trump by 10 points, 51-41.

In August, Clinton led by seven points, 45-38, with Johnson at 10 percent and Stein at 4 percent, in the four-way race.

The Quinnipiac national poll was conducted Sept. 8-13 among 960 likely voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percent.
