Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) holds a six-point lead in a Quinnipiac poll of the U.S. Senate race in North Carolina, distancing his lead over Democratic challenger Deborah Ross.

Burr leads the latest poll of likely North Carolina voters, 49-43.

Suffolk University released a poll yesterday showing Burr with a four-point advantage, 44-39, over Ross, a former democratic state representative. Ross had previously held a lead in a CBS/YouGov poll released early this month.

The Quinnipiac poll was conducted Aug. 29-Sept. 7 via live telephone interview among 751 likely North Carolina voters. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percent.

TPM’s PollTracker Average for North Carolina shows Burr leading Ross, 43.6 to 39.4.
