WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden is in Houston while his son undergoes medical tests.

Beau Biden, the Delaware attorney general, is undergoing tests Tuesday to determine why he experienced weakness and disorientation last week. The younger Biden tweeted that he’s touched by well wishes and will share an update when it’s available.

A Delaware Department of Justice spokesman says the younger Biden, who suffered a mild stroke in 2010, began experiencing the new symptoms after driving to Indiana for a family vacation. The 44-year-old was admitted to a Chicago hospital, then consulted with his doctor in Philadelphia.

The White House says the vice president had been home in Delaware and accompanied his son to Houston. It’s not clear how long the vice president will stay, but he’s scheduled to join the president in Scranton, Pa., this week.
