While federal workers may feel the pressure of the lingering shutdown, President Donald Trump is not. He told pool reporters Wednesday in Iraq that he’s not backing down on his demand for a border wall: “Whatever it takes. We need a wall.”

“We have terrorists coming in through the southern border,” he added, baselessly.

Not only does Trump seem unswayed by the notion of tabling his demand for wall funding to reopen the government, he even expressed confidence that he’d make a trip to the southern border for a wall “groundbreaking” before his next State of the Union address, scheduled for next month.
