President Donald Trump’s legal team appears to have asked Special Counsel Robert Mueller to address the bombshell Buzzfeed News Trump Tower report before Mueller’s team issued a rare statement Friday evening.
Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani told CNN that the team reached out to Mueller’s office Friday morning after the report was published. He declined to elaborate on the specifics of the request.
An anonymous source shared the same information with the Wall Street Journal, adding that the lawyers asked Mueller to act with haste and that it was the first time they have asked the Special Counsel to address a media report.
How nice of Mueller to obey. Does this mean the ugly tweets will stop?
