While in Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) home state on Monday evening, President Trump was pressed on whether he wishes he could take back his blistering Twitter attack on Omar after learning she’s faced death threats since he posted his tweet.

But the bully president has no regrets.

“No, look, she’s been very disrespectful to this country, she’s been very disrespectful, frankly to Israel. She is someone that doesn’t really understand life, real life, what it’s all about,” he told the local ABC station, KSTP News, when asked about the tweet.  “All she really does is criticize people. Take a look at her, take a really good look at her. She’s gotta respect what’s happened in this country. She’s gotta respect people who have been helpful to us and not always criticize. So I think it’s unfortunate. She’s got a way about her that, I think, is very, very bad for our country. I think she’s extremely unpatriotic and extremely disrespectful to our country.”

Trump’s Monday comments doubled down on his attacks lobbed at the congresswoman in recent days. He tweeted a video montage last week of Omar calling 9/11 a day when “some people did something,” juxtaposed with footage of the terror attacks in New York and the Pentagon. Trump and other conservatives have seized on Omar’s comments, which were made during an event at Council on American-Islamic Relations, as an attempt to downplay the 9-11 terror attacks.

Omar was giving a speech on what prompted the creation of the CAIR: discrimination against Muslim Americans after 9/11.
