President Trump applauded Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Twitter for her recent admission that she was not interested in impeachment, but reminded his Twitter followers of a familiar tune: “I never did anything wrong.”

Pelosi told the Washington Post this week that she has no plans to pursue Trump’s impeachment unless there is a bipartisan consensus on it.
“He’s not worth it,” she said.
Trump is a moron thinking that Pelosi was supporting his contention that he did nothing wrong…she’s laying the groundwork for impeachment to succeed politically by making sure it’s seen as a just and necessary action, not spiteful (a la the Clinton impeachment). All Trump has done here is make Pelosi’s case for her…Trump just told his base that Pelosi is on his side, so when evidence comes out showing Trump’s crimes and she “reluctantly” decides impeachment is necessary, at least some of his supporters will follow her logic, or at least listen instead of denying things outright.

I would love to believe this display of weakness is actually a wise move that will reap reward, but we have all seen it all too often, enough to know better.
