A new survey by the Pew Research Center finds that from October 19-25 the controversy surrounding remarks by White House officials about Fox News got the same amount of news coverage as swine flu.
The survey, which looks at print, online, network TV, cable TV, and radio sources, finds that last week both swine flu and the White House/Fox News debate got approximately 5% of total news coverage. Additionally, swine flu received 11% of network news coverage, while the WH v. Fox story got about 12% of cable news and radio coverage.
Topping last week’s coverage was the economic crisis, which got 15% of the total coverage.
