In an ironic twist, the government shutdown over President Donald Trump’s border wall has forced the State Department to cancel an international conference on border security.

According to a Tuesday CNN report, the 16th International Export Control and Border Security Conference slated for February has been indefinitely cancelled “due to uncertainty associated with the continuing partial U.S. federal government shutdown.”

The conference is called to discuss how to halt the transfer of weapons over borders.
