House Intelligence Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Thursday morning that he hopes Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein stays past the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
“It’s not enough that he stick around until Bob Mueller finishes the report,” Schiff told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota. “If the new leadership in the Justice Department is inclined to bury the report, I would hope he would stay and fight to make sure the Congress and the country get to see what Bob Mueller has found.”
He added that, whatever Rosenstein choses to do, Democratic lawmakers are determined to release Mueller’s findings to the American public.
NBC reported Wednesday that Rosenstein intends to stay until Mueller’s report is released.

I love Schiff. His restrained persona belies his badassery. He doesn’t wear glasses but if he did you wouldn’t want to let them fool you.
Schiff has always conjured the (overlain) image in my mind of a cat…with one small, yellow feather still visible at the corner of his mouth. Or maybe it’s an orange feather…
Rep. Schiff started out fine, with the ‘hope Rod Rosenstein stays until the investigation is over’, but THEN he lapsed into Beltwaynian, with the nonsense about some imagined 'final “report”.
I’m inclined to blaime the Beltway climate for that, or maybe Schiff figures, Oh well, it’s some combination of local patois and zeitgeist so I’ll humor the press. Schiff was, after all, at one time an assistant US attorney.
But that was back in Last Century, when there was a freaking LAW that provided for Special Counsel and the like. Schiff’s political career started in earnest in 1996 when he was first elected to something, so maybe from that point he understood he was embued with perfect knowledge and had nothing more to learn about law. At least that might explain this set of wrong headed ideas he’s got rolling about in his Politician’s Brain like loose cannons on a ship en route thru the Straint of Magellan in an angry sea.
I’m starting to feel like Sisyphus wiith beating back this “report” nonsense on almost a daily basis.
