White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders accused CNN of referring to President Trump and his supporters as “evil” “day-in, day-out” when a reporter asked if Trump calling Democrats “evil” was an appropriate insult following the targeted pipe bomb deliveries to Democrats and CNN this week.

Yesterday, the very first thing that the President did was come out and condemn the violence. The very first thing your network did was come out and accuse the President of being responsible for it,” she told reporters on Thursday. “That is not okay. The first thing should have been to condemn the violence.”

CNN did have guests on the air discussing Trump’s rhetoric and whether his criticisms and violent language contributed to someone targeting the Obamas, Clintons, CNN and the others throughout the day on Wednesday. But network hosts’ initial response to the explosive device was to report the news while they were evacuated from the building.

  1. Sanders seems to think that the functions of the free press and the President (of all the people) of the United States are the same. I don’t think she’d like it much if a Democratic President treated Fox, et al, in the same fashion.

Sarah, can you point to a single instance of CNN calling Trump “evil”. Just one.

One, Trump is evil. Two, I would like to see one quote from anyone at or on CNN actually calling Trump evil.

It’s not incumbent upon CNN to condemn the violence. THEY are not the ones who are inciting the violence. Rump IS responsible for the incitement. Oh, and Huckster, every media organization has the receipts to prove this. In fact, every MSM org. has tapdanced around calling him “evil.” Keep pushing the envelope and by next year, they might.
