The RNC is backing President Donald Trump in his criticism of Adm. William McRaven, insisting that he is a political figure.

McRaven was named in a preliminary list of possible vice presidential candidates for Hillary Clinton in June 2016, in an email disseminated by WikiLeaks.

McRaven denied Trump’s claim that he was a “Hillary Clinton fan,” saying he didn’t “back Hillary Clinton or anyone else.”

  1. Grasping at ANY straw that presents itself the Liar-in-Chief stops at nothing, no character assassination too craven, no lie too outlandish, no foreign strongman too smelly to bed.

  2. Avatar for gregor gregor says:

Conversely, since Nazis and the Racists and the other assorted Despicables think of Trump as a member of their respective group, Trump must be a Nazi, a Racist, and a Despicable Bigot.

The RNC logic works both ways.

  3. So now, McR. can no longer be considered to be one of “Rump’s military.” If Rump labels someone a Democrat (rightfully or not) that’s it. They become persona non grata and certainly not a patriot. Because loyalty to Rump IS patriotism.

From what I’ve heard elsewhere, it’s not like McR really gives two sh*ts about that.

  4. The RNC has no choice but to back trump… and pray his takeover of our democracy succeeds. Otherwise, they’re going to be in Mueller’s sites for distributing Russian money to their candidates. Most republicans in congress understand this. They’ve all been caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Some knew it was Russian money (McConnell) while others learned of it’s origin after the fact. Some are quietly resigning and hoping to get away clean. Others are going all-in with trump. With trump loyalists atop the RNC, they’re going all-in.
