LA County Officer Found Shot To Death At Police Station Was Targeted

Los Angeles County authorities say a police officer shot to death in the parking lot of Downey police headquarters was apparently targeted.

Sheriff’s Lt. John Corina says c was in the driver’s seat of his personal vehicle when two suspects ran up and opened fire late Wednesday. The five-year department veteran died in the car.

Another officer heard the gunshots and pursued the suspects, who drove off into the neighboring city of Montebello. Authorities didn’t say whether they believed Galvez was targeted for personal reasons or because of his profession.

A large perimeter has been set up and several apartment buildings have been evacuated as SWAT officers sweep the area.

Corina said Thursday that a number of people have been detained.

Downey Police Chief Carl Charles praised Galvez’s professionalism and said the officer loved serving the city.

  1. Obviously this means the 2nd Amendment must be expanded to include concealed carry for flame throwers, stinger missiles and napalm.

  2. Sadly, this incident will not draw the press following that it should, because a policeman died, rather than some scumbag thug.

We expect scum bag thugs to kill people under dubious circumstance, we do not expect the police to do so.

The article doesn’t give the cop’s name.

Well if the police would stop killing unarmed “thugs” maybe that would help but when three cops in Washington state back in April, in daylight, killed (firing 17 rounds) an unarmed Mexican orchard worker who was throwing rocks at them, maybe then police tragedies would get the appropriate coverage.
