Gen. David Petraeus apparently fainted today during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Afghanistan. He quickly recovered.
Petraeus, who is the commander of U.S. Central Command and therefore the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, slumped forward in his chair while Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) was speaking. He got up of his own accord and walked out of the hearing.After being checked out by medical personnel, Petraeus returned a few minutes later, smiling and joking with senators, and holding a cup of water.
Levin rescheduled the hearing for tomorrow morning.
