Vice President Mike Pence never “heard any discussions” within the Department of Justice about invoking the 25th Amendment to oust President Trump — and frankly, he is offended you even asked.

“I never heard of it. I never heard any discussion of the 25th Amendment and frankly I find any suggestion of it to be absurd,” he told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell on Thursday. “This President’s been producing for the American people and I couldn’t be more proud to stand by him. And the words, the writings of a disgraced FBI agent won’t change that fact for the American people.”

Pence was asked about the 25th Amendment after a clip of McCabe’s interview with 60 Minutes aired on Thursday, in which the former acting FBI deputy director confirms there were discussions within the Justice Department early on in Trump’s tenure about invoking the 25th Amendment to get rid of him.

The comments confirm reporting about the discussions by the New York Times. The Times also reported that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein even discussed wearing a wire while speaking to Trump, but Rosenstein has denied those reports.
