PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (AP) — President Barack Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia have departed Hawaii after a 15-day family vacation for the holidays.

The president and his daughters took off for Washington aboard Air Force One on Saturday night.

Obama left Hawaii after a final low-key day spent mostly on the eastern side of the island. He played golf, hung out in his vacation home with his family and ate dinner at a popular steakhouse near a beachside park.

After dinner, the family drove to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Obama and his daughters greeted people gathered behind a rope line to watch them depart.

Michelle Obama is staying behind on the islands as a birthday present from her husband.
