A new poll finds that most Americans think the decade spanning from 2000-2009 was either “awful” or “not so good.”

In an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, 58% of respondents called the decade either “awful” or “not so good,” 29% said it was “fair,” and only 12% said it was “good” or “great.”

By way of comparison, 1989 was described as “good” by 38% of respondents, while 39% thought it was “fair.” 21% said it was good.

This poll marks the latest setback for a decade that has recently been dubbed “The Decade From Hell” by Time magazine.
