RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A Republican candidate with a slim lead in a contested North Carolina congressional race has issued a last-minute request for the state Elections Board to certify his win.

Mark Harris filed an emergency petition Friday with the state Board of Elections asking for certification before it’s dissolved under a court order at noon. The petition says voters have a right to congressional representation despite an ongoing investigation into ballot fraud allegations.

A three-judge panel ruled Thursday the current elections board should dissolve by noon Friday, previously ruling that its composition was unconstitutional. The court had allowed the elections board to remain in place temporarily because of the election investigation.

A new law with rules governing the formation of a new board won’t take effect until after the scheduled date of a Jan. 11 evidentiary hearing into the contested race. The governor is seeking to appoint a temporary board.

If there was a God, he’d smite this corrupt fraud right now with a large bolt of lightning. There isn’t, and He won’t. Harris will have to be caught in bed with a dead hooker or a live boy, it seems.

The GOP wants a ‘re-election’ using the previous GOP congressman who lost to Harris under much the same conditions.

The problem with doing that is they already certified Harris as winning the primary.

They already ‘knew’ Harris was suspect and they certified him.

  3. Harris is the rightful winner of the contest, but North Carolina insists on letting black people vote, albeit grudgingly. I’m sure given enough time the state can rectify the problem.

  4. They can certify the election if they want, but I believe that Nancy Pelosi already said they would refuse to allow him to serve in the House.

  5. “I know I cheated and the election is now moot and nullified, but can’t you name me the winner anyway? I mean, I am a white male Republican, so that counts for something, right?”
