After actor Christian Bale thanked “Satan” for inspiring him in his portrayal of former Vice President Dick Cheney for the new film “Vice,” the former VP’s daughter, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), tweeted the actor was “probably” inspired by the devil when he was arrested for alleged assault in 2008, too.

The charges against Bale — alleged assault against his mother and sister — were ultimately dropped because the prosecution in England couldn’t find enough evidence to support the allegations.

During his acceptance speech for Best Actor at the Golden Globes on Sunday evening, Bale also compared the former vice president to other “charisma-free assholes” he may play in the future.

“What do you think, Mitch McConnell next? That could be good,” he said before thanking “Satan” for “inspiration on how to play this role.”
