Jon Stewart is not impressed with the ongoing debt limit “debate.”
“Is that what that noise out of Washington has been?” he said last night. “It sounded like an elephant seal trying to fuck a truck.”
Stewart dissected the dueling debt limit speeches by President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), calling the Boehner “the world’s saddest tangerine.”
“As John Boehner spoke, it became clear that while we may be scraping the debt ceiling, we are nowhere near close to running out of cliches,” Stewart said.
But his criticism wasn’t limited to Boehner. Responding to Obama’s call for the American people to contact their representatives in Congress, Stewart jibed: “did the president just quit? You’re the president, you’re asking us to call congress?”
