Three people were injured in a shooting at a mall on the eastern side of Indianapolis around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The suspect is still at large, according to multiple local reports.
The shooting occurred inside Washington Square Mall near the complex’s Target store, but Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Chief Brian Mahone told the Associated Press the location was not important.
The victims were two young adult men and one young adult woman, according to multiple reports.
One of the three victims was in serious condition but expected to survive, according to the Associated Press. The other two had non-life-threatening injuries. All were transported to area hospitals.
According to a report from WTHR, the shooter knew his intended target.
“We have a pretty good idea that these two had something going on,” Mahone said.
Workers from the mall’s Burlington Coat Factory described the incident to reporters. Customers ran in to tell them about the shooting while others barricaded themselves in the break room.

The Indianapolis Star confirmed the shooter did not use a long gun or AK-47.
Maybe when big business starts to whine that no one is going to mall anymore to buy their plastic,made in China junk because they are afraid of getting shot something will get done about guns. They have more money then the NRA and can buy more votes.

I think most customer facing businesses are hesitant to make waves.The NRA can whip their members into boycotts.
If all mall employees were armed, events like this wouldn’t happen.
Actually, you may be on to something, albeit in an indirect way. The only thing that’s going to change Republican thinking on the gun issue is money. When big corporations can make it clear that having guns everywhere is bad for business and is causing profits to suffer, we’ll see a change.
The guy was exercising his constitutional right to shoot at the target on the front of that Target. The collateral injuries are unfortunate but necessary. Besides nobody died, so I’m not sure why the libs want to make a big deal of this.
If targets were outlawed, only outlaws would get target practice.
