In an attempt to make the sprawling impeachment inquiry and the cast of characters it orbits digestible, House Democrats have produced a two-minute movie-trailer-style video aimed at highlighting the most damning moments for President Donald Trump during last month’s hearings.
Politico first obtained the video and attributed it to House Democrats.
Set to ominous music, clips of the testimony chase each other across the screen after title cards sum up each official and his or her part in the story.
For example, before Director for European Affairs of the National Security Council Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman describes his visceral reaction to listening in on Trump’s call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, he is identified as “the Purple Heart recipient on Trump’s National Security Council who heard Trump’s call.”
The video also features former top diplomat to Ukraine Bill Taylor, former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, former NSC senior director Fiona Hill, diplomat David Holmes and Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland.
“The facts aren’t contested,” reads a title card at the video’s conclusion. “Only whether Republicans will do their duty and stand up.”

It’s frustrating we have to wait until Cannes to see if Trump gets hit by that speeding train at the end of the trailer.
Hopefully that ends up all over social media.
I would also like to see a 30 second version of that cut to run on TV, but that might be asking too much (it’s not asking too much).
Heh. That’s genius.
Also: can we now agree that Adam Schiff is smarter and better at messaging than Devin Nunes? Or do we still need the bot-esque “House Dems in disarray” trope?
Coming to a theatre near you.
Kinda disappointed in the Dems. Are they trying to get rid of a toxic criminal who is destroying the country, or instigate a bidding war between Netflix, HBO and Amazon Prime Video for picking up the next thriller mini-series?
