In classic form, Fox News host Sean Hannity shrugged at Tuesday’s New York Times report revealing President Donald Trump’s desire to use the Department of Justice as his own personal attack dog to go after his political opponents.

“Does that sound like breaking news to you? Because, it isn’t, it shouldn’t,” Hannity said Tuesday night. “We know how the President feels about Hillary and James Comey,” naming the two people Trump wanted the DOJ to prosecute.

Hannity then made a false claim about Hillary Clinton’s criminality and smeared his two fellow cable networks, CNN and MSNBC, tut-tutting that they would have known about Trump’s authoritarian instinct if they’d just covered his rallies.

Per the New York Times, then-White House counsel Don McGahn rebuffed Trump’s desire, outlining the myriad ways he’d be punished for such a vindictive move both in Congress and at the ballot box.
